Intern Testimonials from the Heart

"My internship at Community Care Plan was both exciting and rewarding. I was able to put into practice that which I learned in the classroom, but moreover, the internship allowed me to have a better understanding of the work environment that is not always taught in the classroom.

The family-oriented environment made working in the organization easy as it prepared me on my path to becoming a Human Resource Professional. During my time at CCP, I was fortunate to gain insight into all aspects of HR, particularly talent management, where I learned about the recruiting and on-boarding format in the company. I gained first-hand knowledge, as I was in charge of monitoring all intern applications and on-boarded new hires. Being allowed to have an actual role in these processes served to add to the overall professional experience I received.

I also worked on a behavioral interviewing guide for the hiring managers, participated and facilitated a component of a training program and conducted job analyses. The internship at Community Care Plan has definitely played a vital role in my future career plans as I believe it provided a foundation in which I intend to build upon. A great company with a well-structured internship program that supports learning, I was fortunate to have had an experience at CCP."

"I gained valuable experience at CCP, including working on the on-boarding process for new hires, processing payroll and updating job descriptions for the organization. I also utilized human resources software that many organizations use. This experience allowed me to stand out among other candidates when seeking future employment.

Working with experienced HR professionals at CCP has taught me that networking is the key to success in today's workforce. Meeting other career-oriented individuals contributed to my professional growth. Since HR handles different areas in an organization, I gained experience in all areas, which helped me determine where I fit best. I also learned what topics are trending in today's workforce.

Many students assume that internships are mostly administrative work, doing paperwork and other duties. But at CCP, I had hands-on experience in Human Resources, which gave me experience in my field of study. The HR team at CCP sought and valued my input in the projects assigned to me, and asked for my feedback in HR-related questions."

"CCP allowed me to truly expand upon my experiences and never made me feel like I was ‘just an Intern.’ Being trusted to accomplish key tasks was a remarkable experience, and truly made the entire internship priceless. Of course, the constant guidance and resources served to be invaluable tools for me to accomplish the tasks given to me and the goals I had set for myself. All of you are clearly talented individuals with ample experience in your fields, and you all worked to shape this internship to be extremely beneficial and professional."
