John A. Benz

President and CEO

John Benz is the President and CEO of Community Care Plan, the Health Plan with a Heart. He has more than 40 years of experience in the healthcare industry, working adamantly to strengthen the community by focusing on accelerated performance in service, quality, finance, people, and growth.

John has a proven track record of developing and implementing transformational strategies and fostering collaboration by establishing clinical alliances and securing strategic partnerships to create highly integrated models of care.

Prior to working with Community Care Plan, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Strategic Officer for Memorial Healthcare System. In this role, he provided executive leadership and propelled Memorial as a leader in providing high-quality health care services to the South Florida community.

John has served in several volunteer leadership roles spanning private, non-profit and government organizations, including membership on the boards of America’s Essential Hospitals, Florida Healthy Kids Corporation, OneBlood, Inc., United Way of Broward County and 2-1-1 Broward. Currently, he is the Governor-Appointed Chair of the Broward College Board of Trustees, and serves on the board of Broward Regional Health Planning Council.

Throughout his extensive career, John has been recognized for his work with many honors including the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement in Healthcare Award (2016), Florida Hospital Association’s Spirit of Advocacy Award (2009), Safety Net Award presented by the National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems (2006), Spirit of Healing Award presented by the Memorial & Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Foundations (2004), and the Valor Award presented by the American Diabetes Association (2004).

He holds a Master’s Degree in Business from Nova Southeastern University, completed a fellowship program offered by The Healthcare Forum, and is a Diplomate in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Jessica Lerner

Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Jessica Lerner is the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Community Care Plan (CCP), the Health Plan with a Heart, where she is responsible for spearheading and overseeing all daily operations for the organization and plays a major role in monitoring local activities of the health plan to ensure they are in accordance with contract requirements.

Jessica also maintains strong cooperative relationships with regulatory agencies and develops and achieves membership growth, retention, quality and financial targets. She is actively involved in local trade and professional associations, as well as assisting with directing the activities and involvement of CCP’s lobbyist and legal counsel. She is also responsible for developing and implementing strategic business plan goals to build and retain enrollment in the program.

Prior to joining CCP, Jessica served as Executive Director for Memorial Healthcare System where she spearheaded various initiatives for more than 19 years. She directed all health plan operations, including member benefits, provider network development, claims payment operations and system configuration, as well communications distribution and medical and pharmacy management.

Jessica received a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing and management from Florida International University’s College of Business, and a Master’s of Healthcare Administration Degree from Florida Atlantic University. 

Tracy Harswick

Vice President, Payment Operations and Project Management

In her position as Community Care Plan’s Vice President, Payment Operations and Project Management, Tracy Harswick is responsible for developing the strategy for payment operations within CCP, including fostering relationships with third parties utilized for these processes.

Tracy also provides oversight of CCP’s strategic project management operations, and actively participates in corporate performance improvement initiatives, to achieve the highest quality experience and results. She is the key CCP leader driving support and collaboration between departments within the company.

With 25 years of healthcare experience, Tracy has earned recognition throughout her career, including Outstanding Leadership and Exceptional Performance Award from Memorial Healthcare System (2003). She has been certified by the American Academy of Professional Coders as a Certified Professional Coder (2005). Tracy is a member of the Broward College Business and Management Programs Advisory Committee, and the National Society of Leadership and Success. 

Susan Mansolillo

Chief Human Resources Officer

Susan was named Vice President, Human Resources and Communications at Community Care Plan in 2014 and was promoted to the position of Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer in 2016. Prior to joining CCP, she held Human Resources management positions at Tyco Integrated Security, LLC, Boca Raton, FL; ADT Security Services, Inc., Boca Raton, FL; Tenet Florida Health System, Fort Lauderdale, FL; and Burger King Corporation, Miami, FL.

Committed to giving back to her community, Susan volunteers for the Archdiocese of South Florida and serves as co-chairperson of the Annual Non-Profit Awards sponsored by 2-1-1 Broward.

She received a B.S. Degree from Barry University, Miami, FL; a Paralegal Certification from University of Miami; an Employee Relations Law Certification from the Institute for Implied Management and Law; and a Certification in Advanced Human Resources Management from the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).

Edward Maszak

Chief Financial Officer

Ed was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Community Care Plan in 2014. His prior professional experience includes a total of 37 years in health plan finance, including service for Florida Healthcare Plus, Coral Gables, FL; Molina Healthcare, Irving, TX; AXA Assistance, Chicago, IL; Coventry Health Care of Kansas, Kansas City, MO; Health Spring, Chicago, IL; Prevea Health Plan, Inc., Green Bay, WI; and Humana, Milwaukee, WI.

Throughout his career, Ed has been consistently successful in achieving documented financial results in both turnaround and startup operations, managing government-funded businesses, covering 350,000 lives and $1.5 billion annual spending. Since he assumed his role at Community Care Plan, the company has achieved financial results at or near best-in-class in both medical cost levels and administrative expenses.

He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration – Accounting from the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Ed also obtained his accreditation as a Certified Public Accountant in Florida and is a member of the American Institute of CPA’s. 

Leon Mink

Leon Mink

Chief Information Officer

Leon was appointed Chief Information Officer of Community Care Plan in 2015. Previously, he served as Director of Information Technology at Memorial Healthcare System for 15 years. His career highlights include serving as project lead to design, build and implement the technology infrastructure for the construction of Memorial Hospital Miramar, Memorial Data Center and the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

Leon has demonstrated his commitment to the community as a volunteer at the West Broward High School Robotics Club and as a member of Nativity School Men’s Club. Leon received his Master of Business Administration Degree from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL.

Senior Vice President, Government Contracts and Business Development

A 35-year veteran in the health care / health plan industry, Lupe was appointed Vice President, Government and Member Programs at Community Care Plan (formerly SFCCN) in 2007. Previously, she held management positions at Compass Health Systems, Miami, FL; Horizon Behavioral Services, Inc., Lewisville, TX; Magellan Behavioral Health, Plantation, FL; W2Credentialing, Coral Gables, FL; PsychCare, Inc, Coral Gables, FL; Aetna Health Plan, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and Palm Springs General Hospital, Hialeah, FL.

With a reputation for excellence and outstanding performance throughout her career, Lupe was recognized as Employee of the Year during her tenures at Horizon Behavioral Health, Magellan Behavioral Health and Psych Care. She is also listed in “Who’s Who Women in Business. Lupe received an Associate Degree from Miami Dade Community College.

Chief Compliance Officer

Prior to joining Community Care Plan in 2014, Evan has served in the healthcare / health plan industry for 22 years, including his roles as Financial and Claims Auditor at the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI), Boca Raton, FL; Senior Medicare Fraud Investigator at First Coast Service Options, Miami, FL; President/Owner of Sade & Zuniga Medicare Consulting, Inc.; and Compliance Officer at MetCare, Boca Raton, FL.

Evan received a B.A. Degree from Syracuse University and completed his certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC). He has also been certified by the American Academy of Professional Coders as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC).

Miguel Venereo

Chief Medical Officer

A 36-year veteran in the healthcare / health plan industry, Dr. Venereo was appointed Senior V.P. and Chief Medical Officer at Community Care Plan in 2015. Previously, he held positions as Medical Director, Sunshine Health Plan; Medical Director, Medica Healthplan; Director of Medical Affairs, Memorial Hospital West; and OB/GYN Practitioner in his own practice in Pembroke Pines, FL. He completed a fellowship in Patient Safety, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
